I have been waiting to photograph a proposal for so long! I love the anticipation and the joy that these two share after saying yes to the biggest question they will ever be asked. If you are wanting to plan your proposal, I suggest following these steps:
1. Pick a location
2. Pick a date
3. Pick a time of day (nearing sunset is ideal)
4. Pick HOW you are going to propose (gift, card, singing, scavenger hunt etc.)
5. Pick a photographer!
When Sean and his girlfriend were discussing getting engaged in the past, one thing she wanted was a photographer there (I like the way she thinks!). She told him not to forget that little detail, and he didn't (good job Sean!)
Sean's perfect location was on top of the Sandia Mountains! It was a beautiful backdrop on a gorgeous day. It was about 65 and overcast with the sun peeking through here and there.
2. He takes the tram up with his girlfriend around 2:00, hike to the kiwanis cabin,
3. He then plays the ukelele and sings "Marry Me" by Train, confess his love to her, gets down on one knee, and asks her to be his forever.
The plan played out perfectly and I am so happy for this couple!
She had a promise ring on her ring finger that he had given her before. The engagement ring he pick out for her was much like the promise ring, it was stunning.
